Day 23 in San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua
8:00 am-
We had the cleaning lady come in and start cleaning up our home. It woke up the kids and they could not go back to sleep. So we got up and started gathering our things for another travel day. The kids were hungry so Ben cooked us chicken fajitas for brunch.
11:00 am-
After we cleaned up the kitchen we loaded the car and was on our way. We drove to San Juan Del Sur, we never rush our trips. We just go at a leisurely pace and stop when we need to or want to. We finally found a place to get the car washed, it only cost $3 and they hand washed it. We needed to get the mud off of it. When we arrived in the city we drove around the entire city seeing all the shops and the beach. There were a ton of boats in the water, Brandt thought that was cool.
2:30 pm- We checked into our Airbnb. We did a couple hours of work with the good internet.
4:45 pm-
After that was done we decided we need to go walk around a bit and grab some dinner. Cafe Mediterraneo was rated really high on TripAdvisor so we tried it. We got a bruschetta for an appetizer, it was delicious. Ben had a lobster and shrimp fettuccine, the kids had a piece of chicken with potatoes, and I had a little eggplant panini. They were all very delicious, the kids all enjoyed it too. The restaurant was known for their triple chocolate brownie, so we got two to share. By far the best brownie any of us have tried. Super moist and very rich in flavor, a must try if you ever visit San Juan Del Sur. We were going to walk the beach after dinner but Brandt had a stomach ache and so we just went home. We stopped and grabbed a deck of cards because our deck of cards got messed up from humidity at the beach house.
7:30 pm-
The kids did not enjoy the cold showers, there is very little hot water in Nicaragua. We haven't had a shower that has had hot water the entire time we have been here. The all had a mini melt down in the shower because it was cold. They were all exhausted and wished we had a movie for them to watch. We played some cards and then all headed to bed.
Our plan is to go the beach tomorrow. The kids need to get some energy out.
