Day 24 in San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua
9:00 am-
We got ready for the beach and headed back to the little Cafe Meditterraneo restaurant for coffee. Chloe ordered a pineapple banana smoothie. Cali had bacon, eggs and toast. Brandt had banana and Nutella pancakes. We had fruit and honey pancakes. The lattes were really good too. Everybody loved breakfast, especially Brandt.
11:30 am-
We drove to Playa Hermosa (Beautiful Beach) , it took about 30 minutes on a maintained dirt road. They charged the adults $3 per person to access the beach. Once we saw the beach we understood why. The beach was absolutely beautiful, the tide was out when we arrived and it looked like a long stretch of sand before the water washed up. There was a bar we passed on our way walking to the water, we ordered 2 margaritas. I have been wanting a margarita since we arrived. The kids loved that the ride was out. They could walk far out and it still only be to their knees. Ben and Cali went out where the waves got bigger and had a blast jumping through them. Me and the little ones stayed in the shallower area and let them play in the water. We spotted crabs, fish, a dead baby sea turtle :( and found a sand dollar. The kids played until they were exhausted and ready for some food.
4:30 pm-
We went to Taco Stop for dinner. Everyone had quesadillas and I had a chicken bowl. The kids finished all of their food, they were really hungry. We went back to our Airbnb and showered. The cold shower didn't feel as bad today. Ben got sunburned on the lower part of his back pretty bad (I guess we missed that spot). We went back into town to find aloe vera gel, luckily the little miscellaneous store had some. We coated him when we got back. We played some online games with family and friends on our phones. We miss not playing games with people. Ben game the kids their kindles because they have been being really good lately and wanted to reward them. They were thrilled. We were all exhausted for the sun and just relaxed the rest of the night.
Tomorrow we are planning to rent some body boards (if we can find them) and go back to a beach. The kids always have a blast when we go to the beach.
