Seminyak, Beaches, & Only a Few Days Away From A Family Rendezvous

Dear Wilson,

Next stop is Seminyak, Bali. The house we stayed in was amazing but the location was not exactly the best. It was a relatively boring week to be honest but it's good to just chill sometimes anyway.

We went to a really cool beach in Seminyak. It's pretty mind blowing how strong the waves and currents are in Bali. I've never been scared of water but when the currents are strong enough to pull you out even waist deep, it does make you a bit more cautious. We decided to try Canggu beach next and it was even better. The waves were huge and a lot of fun for the kids and I. We got knocked off of our feet so many times from the force of the waves. Super fun and I highly recommend Canggu beach! Erica is convinced she will get eaten by a shark even in 6" of water, so she stays on the sand. Not sure of the odds of getting eaten by a shark in ankle deep water but I bet it's not super common lol. Anyway, we had a blast. Just a few scrapes from some coral and sand when the waves knock us off of our feet. The casualties were worth the exchange for fun.

We occupied our time in Seminyak by walking around shops, beaches, and playing video games. I know some of you are thinking "why the fuck would you play video games when in Bali?" Well, on a long trip like this, it's too expensive and physically/mentally draining to just go go go everyday & all day. So, sprinkle in some video game time and it's the perfect combination of sight seeing and chilling. To be honest, there is quite a bit of video game time. More than most would assume lol. But hey, video games are free and it's something we do as a family since we all like the same game. Shopping and sightseeing is usually pretty expensive for a group of 5. So that's part of the motivation as well to lay low sometimes.

That's pretty much it for Seminyak. This is our last stop before meeting Chris, Larrel, Mom, Lilly, and Finn on Ceningan Island. That's a small island off of Bali main island. Just about a 45 minute boat ride. I can't believe they came all the way across the globe to see us but we are thankful that they are. We are all super excited to see people we know for a change. Especially Cali. She really needs to see some familiarity, it seems. It's been well over 2 months since we have seen friends or family from home. Can't wait!
